Date: 10th February, 24th February, 10th March and 24th March 2023
Time: 6.45pm to 9.45pm
This course is for those who have made bags previously and wish to add to their skills. It is not for beginners to bag making.
During this bag making course you will make a Jangles Anchor Bag from a Mrs H pattern. The classes are run over the course of four sessions as this bag has a number of different elements and will need time to make.
You will learn how to make handles and attach them using anchor straps, add a recessed zip opening, make a box zipped pocket and slip pocket and how to make an internal zipped divider. You will also have the chance to add optional decorative metal hardware and a crossbody strap.
Finished bag measurements – Width 28cm x Height 25cm x Depth 12.5cm approx. (11″ x 10″ x 5″)
Some preparation will need to be done before the start of the first session – cutting out of pattern pieces/fabric and fusing interfacing. Help will be available in the shop for this if needed.
You will need to provide your own materials for this project, all available to purchase from Nimble Thimbles. Sewing machines are provided in the sewing school but you will need to bring your own equipment with you.
If you wish to use a heavier weight fabric for your bag, such as faux leather, you are welcome to bring your own sewing machine as the sewing school machines may not cope with this type of fabric.
Once you have booked you will be emailed a list of materials & equipment needed for this project.
Payment can be made in full or on a session by session basis (this option only available when booking in the shop), but you will need to commit to attending all four sessions at time of booking.
