Description

Date: 20th April 2024
Day: Saturday
Time: 10am to 5pm

Make this extremely dapper waistcoat on this one day workshop using ‘McCall’s’ pattern 8442. Made from fabrics of your choice – cotton poplin, denim, suiting fabrics, corduroy or linen, this fully lined waistcoat can be made for a man or a lady. It has buttons at the front, faux welt pockets and a tie at the back.

You can see the waistcoat made up in the shop in size ‘large’ in a cotton poplin print fabric and lined with a paisley dress lining.

Pattern size: XS – XL (Bust/Chest size: 30″ – 48″)

Some sewing experience is needed for this workshop (ie: you need to know how to use a sewing machine and have done a bit of dressmaking before).

You will be required to cut out your fabric prior to the start of the class. This can be done at the shop if you need help doing this.

The skills you will learn will be how to read your pattern, how to sew darts, buttonholes and faux welt pockets and learn the magic of how to enclose all of your seams.) You will take a pattern (worth £13.50) home with you so you can make many more at your leisure!

You will need to provide your own materials and tools for this class but sewing machines and pattern are provided. Once you have booked you will be emailed a list of materials and tools needed for this workshop.
