This is a great workshop to learn hints and tips on how to sew stretch jersey fabrics. The perfect introduction to sewing knit fabrics on a regular sewing machine with the option to use the overlocker if you prefer.
Make your own ‘Agnes’ Top using the Tilly and the Buttons pattern. With a choice of necklines and sleeves, this jersey top is a versatile wardrobe staple you’ll make time and again. The pattern has a choice of a scoop neckline or a ruched sweetheart neckline. The sleeves can be full length or elbow length with a choice to ruche them at the shoulders.
Pattern size: 6-34
Some sewing experience is needed for this workshop (ie: you need to know how to use a sewing machine).
The skills you will learn will be how to read your pattern, transferring pattern markings, twin needle sewing, seams and finishes, hems and how to use an overlocker (if you wish). Essentially you will pick up tips on how to sew jersey successfully and you will take a pattern (worth £17.50) home with you so you can make many more at your leisure!
You will need to provide your own materials and tools for this class but sewing machines and patterns are provided. Once you have booked you will be emailed a list of materials and tools needed for this workshop. You will also need to cut out all you fabric pieces before the class so we can concentrate on the sewing during the class. If you need help doing this in the shop before hand, then please ask.
