Description
Date: 4th February 2023
Day: Saturday
Time: 10am to 2pm
Learn the skill of ‘Foundation Paper Piecing’ during this on-going Saturday class. Even if you’ve never quilted before you can join this class and make this beautiful lap quilt. This quilt is a great ‘scrap buster’ or you can use fabrics of your choice from any of the stunning ranges at Nimble Thimbles. We used ten colours plus the black on our quilt and they were just small pieces of each colour. You don’t have to commit to every monthly class, just come when you can.
Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) is a piecing technique in quilt making. The technique uses paper as a foundation to stabilize the quilt block as it is constructed. Once the quilt block is completed, the paper is removed.
The completed lap quilt can be seen in the shop if you’d like to see it beforehand.
Finished size: There is a choice of two sizes – 6″ block makes a finished size of approx. 28″ x 28″. The 7″ block makes up to a 48″ x 48″ size quilt.
(Those who would like to continue with last year’s quilt can do so in this class too)
You will need to provide your own materials and equipment for this class but the pattern and sewing machines are set out for you to use in the sewing school. Tea & biscuits are supplied too!
