Time: 9.30am to 5pm

Make this gorgeous girl’s dress using McCalls pattern 8444. This is a great workshop to learn hints and tips for dressmaking.

This drop waisted girls dress has a gathered skirt and sleeves with cuffs, yolk top with a button fastening. The pattern doesn’t have pockets but you have the option of adding pockets on the day. There is a choice of side pockets or tie-top patch pockets. (As seen on the dress made up in the shop). You will be given a separate pattern for those.

Please note that if you’d like to make the pleated collar, you will need to make that at home first to insert on the day.

Pattern size: Age 3 – 14 Years
Some sewing experience is needed for this workshop (ie: you need to know how to use a sewing machine).

The skills you will learn will be how to read your pattern, how to insert a sleeve, seams and finishes, gathering and how to use an overlocker (if you wish). Essentially you will pick up tips on how to sew successfully and you will take a pattern (worth £13.50) home with you so you can make many more at your leisure!

You will need to provide your own materials and tools for this class but sewing machines and patterns are provided. Once you have booked you will be emailed a list of materials and tools needed for this workshop. You will also need to cut out all you fabric pieces before the class so we can concentrate on the sewing during the class. If you need help doing this in the shop before hand, then please ask.
