Description

Date: 14th October 2023
Day: Saturday
Time: 9.30am to 5.00pm

During this one day workshop you will make a modified version of the Noodlehead ‘Range’ Backpack, with a fold over top, external zip pocket, internal slip pocket and webbing closure, handle and straps.

We have altered the original pattern to ensure completion of your bag during the workshop. However, the pattern includes full instructions to make the bag without modifications at a later date.

Modifications include using webbing for the closure, handle and strap  and a simplified front zipped pocket.

Bags will need to be made using quilting weight cotton or a medium weight fabric, as anything heavier will be too thick for the sewing school machines to handle.

You will be able to choose from two different types of interfacing, depending on how much structure you would prefer for your backpack.

Dimensions

15″ tall (closed) x 10.5″ wide x 4″ deep (at base). 38cm x 27cm x 10cm.

You will need to know how to confidently use a sewing machine, including using a zipper foot.

Please be prepared for an intensive day of sewing.

The pattern is included in the workshop price but you will need to provide your own materials for this project, all available to purchase from Nimble Thimbles.

Some preparation will be required before the class ie: cutting out your pieces and fusing interfacing. Please note that there are no pattern pieces with this pattern – you are given measurements to cut rectangles. There is help in the shop if you need for this.

Sewing machines are provided in the sewing school but you will need to bring your own equipment with you.
Once you have booked you will be emailed a list of materials & equipment needed for this project, closer to the time.
